It has been a long time coming, but today the canopy has been mated to the chassis.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.
The chassis fixing brackets are welded to the canopy subframe, and we can vary the amount of tension holding the canopy to the chassis by torquing the pairs of bolts up or down. To start with we are trying 50Nm.
Obviously, the wooden packers still have to be removed.
The step-up from the ground to the canopy steps is around 600mm, so quite a step but about the same as the steps to the actual cabin.
Given that weather was a very hot 43 degrees, it was fitting that the air-conditioner got installed today. With the aircon set to 18 degrees, and the outside temperature over 40, the internal temperature was 28 degrees after half an hour of running, and that is with the entrance door missing and the windows open.
It should do the job comfortably once the door is fitted to keep hot air out.
This is the view from the rear.
