We left the Land Rover in the shed and flew up to Port Douglas for a bit of warmth, and had a week away from the cold and rain

Ultimately the mud thwarted our attempt to get to Lake Eyre but we had an excellent time trying to get there, although next time we probably won't take motorbikes...
